With the high-voltage battery, our team provides the necessary power for the drive train.
We focus on the electrical work of our car. We develop and build the battery container and the mechanical support of the segments. Besides, we take care of the electrical layout, the high-voltage wiring and the cooling. In addition, we work on the high-voltage electronics, the battery management system and the creation of a simulation of the cells.
The battery consists of 216 individual LiPo cells, which are connected to a maximum voltage of 450 volts. We develop and build the largest part of the battery ourselves, except the cells themselves.
In order to ensure the safety of the battery, each individual cell is monitored by the battery management system using its own software, which transmits the cell voltages and temperatures to the vehicle control system. The cells are held together by 3D-printed segment holders and mechanically fixed in the battery container. We develop and assemble the circuit boards ourselves.
For the battery, we use various innovative technologies, such as 3D printing.
Each individual cell in the battery has more than twice the capacity of a usual smartphone battery cell. The total capacity is up to 480 smartphone batteries.
